Demand for Senior Managers grows as the market changes

Companies are on the lookout for managers, with senior employment levels at the highest since 1997, (REC survey), but one of the many challenges left by the recession sees managers more reluctant to leave the security of the job they know.

Higher pay and better career progression have been replaced as the key drivers, with company stability and skills development increasingly taking over.  Many employers are also working harder than ever to engage and keep the talent they have.

Whilst candidates are risk adverse, clients too are less willing to 'take a risk' and many aren't willing to recruit unless the candidate has done the same job, at the same level, within a rival business.

All of this highlights the importance of choosing carefully which recruiters represent your business, with those who understand the changing drivers in the marketplace best placed to secure your business an advantage in the search for talent.

This recent article, by Carly Chynoweth, in The Sunday Times, provides a more in depth picture of the difficulties of securing the best managers for your business post-recession.
