Site Finance Manger – Chemical Manufacturing
Client
A multi-national German chemical company that had recenly acquired its first chemical manufacturing site in the UK.
Objective
The site had a history of poor financial dicipline and the quality of the management information at local level was not good. Our task was to find a Finance Manager who could implement robust financial processes and systems and develop the management information system whist working effectively alongside the General Manager . Whilst previous experience of the sector would be useful, the focus was was more on the innate intelligence and abilities of the individual candidate. The location and level of the role meant it would appeal more to a candidate from the local area rather than a relocator.
Method
We combined headhunting from companies in the locality that were likely to be employing accountants with the right skill set with some internet advertising. We were able to present a shortlist of 5 candidates within 3 weeks.
Result
The client met all 5 shortlisted candidates before selecting one for a final meeting in Germany. The preferred candidate had a day of interviews and meeting key people in the Head Office before the final offer was made and subsequently accepted.
